Conditions of Rental

Since we operate as a club, we rely on members to help take care of the cabin.  Please leave the cabin neat, tidy and sanitized when you leave.  Please complete the feedback sheet (provided at key pick-up) to keep the board informed of any issues or needed supplies. 

Liability Waivers

All cabin guests must sign a liability waiver prior to the trip. The Trip Leader must ensure that all party members print and sign the waiver prior to the day of departure. An original or printed out photograph of a signed original waiver is acceptable. There is no electronic waiver signature available.

Cabin Rental Rates & Payment

The cabin is rented to members only for $200 per night. All bookings (except for Dec 24--26) are for two nights. Payment for both nights ($400) is required within 7 days to confirm your booking. Payments are made only through email money transfer to malignelake.skiclub@gmail.com.

In 2024, the MLSC received an anonymous donation of $1000 for the youth fund in addition to a contribution from the club of $2000. The youth fund will be used to pay the first $75 of the nightly fee for any group with a family member 18 years old or younger.  This reduces the cost to $125 per night. When the money is used up, regular rates will apply.

Party Size

In all cases, the maximum party size is six (6) people.

Trip Leader

The person who books the cabin will be known to us as the "Trip Leader."

The trip leader must be in attendance for the duration of their trip. This person is responsible for the overall safety of his party and for the well-being of the cabin. The key will be given to the trip leader.

Refunds and Cancellations

In the event of a cancellation, please contact us. If the request is received 2 weeks prior to the  departure date, we will refund your payment in full. If not, you will lose your payment if we can not fill your date. Shangrila is a busy place, and if you have to cancel, there are others that would love to take your spot.  Please give us as much notice as possible.

  • In the event of a safety-related closure, the executive reserves the right to cancel your reservation. A full refund will be paid in this situation.

  • In the event of a road closure, a full refund will be paid. In the event of a personal emergency, severe weather, or other emergencies, the executive will determine whether a refund of monies will be paid.
